Clayton Cooper has pitched in Europe.

Cooper was 6-1 with a save and a 2.33 ERA as a high school sophomore, fanning 60 in 45 innings. As a junior, he was 9-4 with a 2.36 ERA and 114 K in 71 1/3 innings. His senior year, he hit .400 with eight homers and 51 RBI, fanned 106 while walking just 13 in 77 1/3 innings and went 12-1 with a save and a 1.81 ERA. His first year of junior college, he was 6-6, but improved to 10-2, 3.66 with 14 walks in 83 2/3 innings his second year (2007). Transferring to Northwestern State University, he had a 5-4, 4.25 record in 2008 but bombed as a senior (1-4, 12.23).

He played in the Belgian First Division in 2009 with the Brasschaat Braves. He went 9-2 with an ERA of 2.04. He struck out 106 batters in 88 1/3 innings (with 33 BB). He was third in wins, three behind Kenny Vandenbranden, was second to Yannick Gontier in whiffs and was 4th in ERA (after Dennis van Hoof, T.J. Antonacci and Vandenbranden).

He signed with the Lions de Savigny-sur-Orge in 2011. He started their season opener and beat the Rouen Huskies (defending champs), fanning seven.
