When Claude Rossman played first base on the Cleveland Naps in 1906, only two regulars had higher batting averages - Nap Lajoie and Elmer Flick, both future Hall of Famers.

He died in an insane hospital at age 46 from paresis, a form of insanity caused by syphilitic alteration of the brain.
