Biographical Information

Davenport stands between "Whitey" Gislason and Fred Haney.

Claude Davenport, called "Big Dave", and his brother Dave Davenport, were both 6 ' 6 " pitchers, at a time when most players were quite a bit shorter. After his one game in the majors, Claude pitched with considerable success in the minors, winning 20+ games three times and 19 another time.
