Ciro Rosero played his 5th minor league season in 2008.
Rosero signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates at age 17. He hit .239/~.282/.342 for the VSL Pirates in 2004 while playing second base. In 2005, he batted .263/~.327/.372 and stole 20 bases for the VSL Pirates; he was second in the Venezuelan Summer League in steals. In 2006, Ciro hit .321/.402/.418 for the VSL Pirates. In 69 games, he scored 50 runs, drove in 44 and stole 34 bases. He was 6th in the VSL in average, 4th in runs, 4th in hits, tied for 4th in RBI and led in sacrifice flies (7). He made the league All-Star team.
In 2007, Rosero moved to the outfield and came stateside. He hit .292/~.355/.434 with 10 swipes for the GCL Pirates and was 1 for 16 with the Lynchburg Hillcats. He spent 2008 with the State College Spikes, producing at a .266/.301/.346 rate and also had 8 outfield assists. He was on Panama's preliminary roster for the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
