Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Chuck Murphy played in the minor leagues from 1908 to 1910. He played for the Canton Chinks (1908, 1909), Galesburg Boosters (1909) and Kearney Kapitalists (1910). His statistical record is incomplete, however it is known he had at least 92 hits in 383 at-bats for a career .240 batting average.

He managed the Kapitalists to a 60-51, third place finish in 1910 and a 48-64, 7th place finish in 1911. In 1908, he managed Canton for the latter half of the season, replacing Rodney Turner.
