Biographical Information[edit]

Chuck Martin pitched in the Atlanta Braves system in 1984 and 1985. He was originally taken by the Chicago Cubs in the 7th round of the regular phase of the 1982 January draft, but opted not to sign. He did sign after the Braves took him in the 24th round of the 1984 amateur draft, a few picks ahead of pitcher Bob Davidson.

He pitched for the Anderson Braves in 1984, going 4-0 with a 3.12 ERA in 19 relief appearances. With the Sumter Braves in 1985, he went 4-4 with 13 saves and a 2.67 ERA in 43 games (1 start). Overall, he went 8-4 with 17 saves and a 2.81 ERA in 62 games. In 80 innings, he allowed 63 hits and 39 walks (1.275 WHIP), while striking out 77 batters.

His son, Cody Martin, pitched in the major leagues.
