Biographical Information[edit]
Chris Van Cuyk pitched 44 games in the majors for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1950 to 1952, mostly as a starter.
The Dodgers Encyclopedia describes the game on May 21, 1952, when the Dodgers scored 15 runs in one inning. Van Cuyk was the pitcher that day against the Cincinnati Reds, and in addition to getting the win that day, had four hits, including two in the big inning. The Encyclopedia calls Van Cuyk "handsome" and a "flamethrower", and says he was fresh off an 11-4 year the previous season at Montreal.
He was with the Fort Worth Cats from 1948 to 1950.
He is the brother of Johnny Van Cuyk.
