Chris Theobold

From BR Bullpen

Chris Theobold made his baseball debut with the 1954 Muskogee Giants, going 10-7 with a 4.26 ERA. He finished up a year later with the Rock Hill Chiefs, getting shelled to the tune of 2-7, 7.26.

Personal Remembrance[edit]

Chris Theobault (sp?) was a right-handed pitcher for the 1955 Rock Hill Chiefs of the Class B Tri-State League. He was a thin, rather small player, with black hair. He was from Louisiana, probably New Orleans. This was not his rookie year, I don't believe. He was a pitcher with a quick motion, but not much velocity on his fastball, as I recall. (I was also a pticher on this team). I don't think his pitching record was very good for the Chiefs, and I'm not sure he continued in pro ball after 1955. I believe he was originally signed by the Nashville Vols of the AA Southern Association, and was still under contract to them during his stay in Rock Hill. I'm not sure what teams Chris played on prior to Rock Hill in 1955.
