Biographical Information[edit]
Chris Leach played three seasons in the minor leagues. Leach led Florida Southern to the 1988 NCAA Division II World Series title, going 11 for 16 with six runs to win MVP honors. Undrafted, he signed with the Boston Red Sox chain. Assigned to the 1989 Winter Haven Red Sox, he hit a meek .165/.291/.195 with 16 runs produced in 63 games. He batted .194/.324/.254 for the Lynchburg Red Sox, with 55 walks in 97 games. The outfielder wrapped up his career with the 1991 Lynchburg club, at .214/.393/.325 with 34 walks in 46 contests. Overall, he had a produced at a .191/.333/.257 rate with 112 walks and 153 strikeouts in 668 plate appearances as a pro.
