Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Chris Hicks played in the minor leagues for four seasons, briefly reaching Triple-A.

He moved from Missouri to Georgia after his junior year of high school. He stayed in the area to attend Georgia Tech. Hicks was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 14th round of the 2008 amateur draft despite posting a 8.37 ERA his final season. He was signed by scout Lincoln Martin for $150,000 and made his pro debut that summer. He was 0-0 with a 3.38 ERA in 6 relief appearances for the Tri-City ValleyCats that year. In 2009, he was 9-11 with a 6.12 ERA in 26 starts for the Lancaster JetHawks. He did not pitch in 2010. In 2011, he was 2-1 with a 3.46 ERA in 28 relief appearances for Lancaster and the Corpus Christi Hooks. He was 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in 8 games split between the Hooks and Triple-A Oklahoma City RedHawks in 2012.

Overall, he was 11-13 with a 5.49 ERA in 68 games (26 starts).
