Biographical Information

Chieh-Hung Yao pitched in the CPBL.

Yao was drafted by the Uni-President Lions in the 5th round of the 2020 CPBL Draft, and he was 1-3 with a 6.61 ERA in 2021. He got his first career win against the CTBC Brothers on September 12. Yao went 1-1 with a 5.33 ERA in 2022, and he had a 3.86 ERA in 12 relief outings in 2023. He was in the rotation of the minors in 2023, and he went 4-4 with a 3.28 ERA.

Yao's repertoire included a fastball (peak 93.8 mph), sinker and slider.
