Biographical Information[edit]

Chiaki Tone pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.

Tone was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the second round of the 2014 NPB draft, and he had a 2.88 ERA in 46 appearances with 5 holds in 2015. His ERA rose to 4.50 in 42 games in 2016, then he only pitched 6 games with the big club in 2017. Tone bounced back in 2018, and he pitched 26 games with a 1.99 ERA. He had a 4.82 ERA in 29 games in 2019, and he missed the entire 2020 season due to a right foot injury. Tone allowed 8 runs in 14 1/3 innings in 2021, and the Hiroshima Carp selected him in the 2022 NPB Active draft. He collected 5 holds with a 4.64 ERA in 24 games in 2023, but he stayed in the minors for the entire 2024 season then he retired.

Overall, Tone was 6-2 with a 4.04 ERA, collected 23 holds and 3 saves in 182 appearances, struck out 152 and pitched 180 1/3 innings in 7 seasons in the NPB.
