Biographical Information[edit]
Chi-hong An was a member of the South Korean squad that won Gold at the 2008 World Junior Championship. He was honored as the tournament's Most Outstanding Defensive Player. He debuted as a pro with the 2009 KIA Tigers and was hitting .245/.273/.392 after 44 games, starting regularly.
An became the first rookie fresh from high school to start in the Korea Baseball Organization All-Star Game. He then became the youngest player to homer in the game (breaking Seung-yeop Lee's record) and the youngest All-Star Game MVP.
