Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Chet Covington began his career in organized baseball when he was already 28, but still went on to win over 200 games as a professional. Before turning to baseball, he had been a successful boxer, fighting 216 times over 9 years until his wife convinced to find another sport to earn his living. Chet's big league run was a 19-game stint for the 1944 Philadelphia Phillies, going 1-1, 4.66 in 38 2/3 innings. Below, please enjoy his appearances on minor league leaderboards.
