Biographical Information[edit]
Chan-Jung Chang has been an umpire in CPBL.
An outfielder in Chinese Culture University, Chang had been teammates with some Taiwan National Team players such as Kun-Hong Pai or Chao-Huang Lin. Unlike them, Chang decided to become an umpire after graduated. He joined the umpire training program of the CPBL in 1996, but failed to become a formal umpire of the league. When the Taiwan Major Leaguewas being founded in 1997, Chang joined them and soon became their top empire, worked 766 games with them. Since two leagues merged in 2003, Chang joined the CPBL in that year. He has worked all the Taiwan Series from 2008 to present (as of 2022), 2005 Asia Series, 2007 Asia Series, and 2023 World Baseball Classic. He was the fifth umpire to work 2,000 CPBL games in 2021.
