Chartres is located in central France, on the Eure River some 55 miles south of Paris. It is best known for its outstanding medieval cathedral.

Chartres co-hosted the 2015 European Cup, along with Paris and Rotterdam in the Netherlands. It is home to the French Cubs de Chartres who have played in the French Division I; their home park is the Terrain de Gellainville, located in the suburbs.
