The Charter Oaks of Hartford (also known as the Hartford Charter Oaks) were a team that played in the National Association of Base Ball Players (NABBP) beginning around 1862. Their home field was called "The Park." They are said to have been the second organized ball club in the city of Hartford, CT, the first simply being called the "Independent Base Ball Club of Hartford" which came around in 1860. Former NL umpire Fred Bunce played for the Charter Oaks at one point.
