Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Charlotte Armstrong played for the South Bend Blue Sox of the AAGPBL in 1944 and 1945. She was 21-15 with a 1.51 ERA as a rookie (finishing second in ERA to star Helen Nicol), then 18-22 with a 1.98 ERA in '45. She missed the top 10 in ERA while placing 7th in wins and third in innings pitched (333). Overall, she had a 39-37, 1.76 record in 85 games with 511 hits, 154 walks and 159 whiffs in 676 innings. She hit .149.
