Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Charlie Tilson made his big league debut with the Chicago White Sox on August 2, 2016, just days after having been acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals in a trade for P Zach Duke. He started in centerfield and batted 8th against the Detroit Tigers in his debut. He singled off Anibal Sanchez in his first at-bat in the 3rd, then grounded out in the 4th, but in the 5th, he injured his hamstring trying to catch a double by Miguel Cabrera and had to leave the game. Tests revealed a tear, meaning that he was done for the season. He did not make his return to the major leagues until 2018, when he played 41 games for Chicago, hitting .264.
