Biographical Information[edit]
Charlie Sweasy was part of the great 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings. He was with the Irvingtons in 1866-1867, and the Buckeyes in 1868. He managed the 1875 St. Louis Red Stockings, which went 4-15.
He umpired a total of 10 games in the National Association and National League between 1871 and 1879.
His obituary says he had to retire from baseball due to rheumatism, and that he died at the age of 61 from consumption.
