Biographical Information[edit]
Charlie "Doc" Hall played three games for the 1887 New York Metropolitans. The three games were all against the 1887 Brooklyn Grays, and Charlie played center field.
He also spent part of the season with the Lincoln Tree Planters, for whom he hit .404. However, the team had a high batting average, with 19-year-old Jake Beckley also hitting over .400.
After baseball he became a surgeon.
He is the only player (through 2019) to have died in Steilacoom, WA. However, he is not the only player to be born in Toulon, IL as Johnny Walker was also born there. Hall was born a week earlier than Darby O'Brien, who was born in Peoria, IL, not far from Toulon.
