Biographical Information[edit]
Charley Frisbee played on the Boston Beaneaters in 1899, hitting .329. He also appeared in four games with the New York Giants in 1900. In the minors he hit over .300 each year from 1896-1899 before he came to the majors.
Through 2011 he is the first of two players to come to the majors out of Grinnell College. He is the only major league player born in Dows, IA and the only major leaguer born in Iowa in 1874, although Fred Clarke had been born in the state a couple of years earlier, in 1872. Charley is the only major leaguer with the last name Frisbee, and the only major leaguer with the nickname "Bunt".
