Biographical Information[edit]
On the surface Charlie Dewald seemed totally dominant. He appeared in two games, won them both, and posted an 0.64 ERA. As a hitter, he hit .375 with three RBI.
He did, however, allow a lot of unearned runs, and as a hitter he had no extra-base hits.
However, his two performances were impressive all the same. In his first game he beat the second-place Brooklyn team and in his second game he beat the league-leading Boston team. He had come up from Jamestown. Source: The Beer and Whisky League.
In 1892 he played for Toledo.
After baseball, he was a Cleveland committeeman.
