Biographical Information[edit]
Six-foot two-inch Charlie Bold played a couple games for the 1914 St. Louis Browns in August after he had attended Georgetown University in 1913-14. Bold is one of only four major leaguers born in Sweden. Interestingly, two of the other three (Eric Erickson and Axel Lindstrom) were born in 1895, one year after Bold was born. Although born in Sweden, he is the only major leaguer given the name "Charles Dickens" as his first and middle names.
