Biographical Information[edit]

Chuck Minott was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round of the 1969 Amateur Draft (20th overall). In 1969 and 1971 he pitched in the Cardinals farm system for the GCL Cardinals, Lewiston Broncs, and St. Petersburg Cardinals. For his career, he posted a 2-5 record with a 4.31 earned run average. He had a combined batting average of .304 over the two seasons with 10 doubles, 3 triples, and 5 home runs.

Minott fell ill during spring training in 1972 and was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease. He passed away at 27 in June 1979.
