Charles Bolden

From BR Bullpen

Biographical Information[edit]

Charles Bolden played college ball at the University of St. Francis under legendary coach Gordie Gillespie. After college he played professionally for the Rockford RiverHawks and Big Bend Cowboys in the independent leagues, probably in the 2008-2010 period.

Bolden held a variety of jobs over the years according to his LinkedIn profile.[1] These included teaching high school physical education classes, coaching high school basketball, and founding Midwest Havoc Baseball. He gradually moved into college baseball as an assistant coach with Chicago State University (2017) followed by a stint with the Illinois Institute of Technology (2018-2019). Bolden left the Scarlet Hawks in early 2020 to assume head coaching duties at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The Blugolds had dropped baseball after the 1995 season and Bolden was hired to resurrect the program. Bolden resigned from Eau Claire after the completion of the 2023 season.

The Baltimore Orioles hired Bolden in 2024 to serve as the Aberdeen IronBirds fundamentals coach.
