Biographical Information

Reliever Charles Basford played in the New York Yankees and Houston Astros systems.

He was taken by the club in the 37th round of the 2012 amateur draft and began his professional career that year. With the Staten Island Yankees, he went 2-3 with a 5.18 ERA in 18 appearances. He pitched for Staten Island and the Tri-City ValleyCats of the Astros system in 2013 and went a combined 3-0 with a 2.86 ERA in 20 appearances.

Overall, he went 5-3 with a 3.93 ERA in 38 games.
