Biographical Information[edit]
Chang-min Shim has pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization.
Shim went 4-0 with a 0.38 ERA to help his team win the 2010 high school national title. He pitched for South Korea in the 2010 World Junior Championship, winning against Panama. The Samsung Lions took him in the first round of the 2011 draft but a shoulder injury sidelined him for a while. He debuted in 2012, going 2-2 with a save and a 1.83 ERA, allowing 26 hits and 17 walks in 39 1/3 IP while fanning 41. Samsung won the 2012 Korean Series. He was sharp again in 2013 (1-0, 2 Sv, 2.68 in 50 G; 57 K, 35 H, 19 BB in 50 1/3 IP). He entered game 2 of the 2013 Korean Series down 2-1 in the 13th after closer Seung-hwan Oh allowed a homer, but gave up 3 unearned runs to the Doosan Bears. In game 6, he got the win with 1 1/3 shutout innings as Samsung became the second team to tie a Korean Series after trailing 3 games to 1.
