Biographical Information[edit]

Chad Kimsey pitched six years in the majors, sometimes with excellent ERA's. He also was a great hitter for a pitcher, hitting .282 with a slugging percentage of .432 in his major league career. In his most notable year as a hitter, 1930, he hit .343 on a team that hit .268. He had a higher batting average than any regular, outhitting Goose Goslin and Heinie Manush.

Of the 198 games he appeared in as a pitcher, he finished 136 of them. He appeared in 227 total major league games, presumably appearing the extra 29 times as a pinch-hitter.

Kimsey died at the age of 36 in a truck crash.
