Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Chad Beck was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 43rd round of the 2004 amateur draft but did not sign. After attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, he was chosen by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 14th round of the 2006 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Mike Valarezo and made his pro debut that summer. On August 31, 2008, Beck was dealt to the Blue Jays for David Eckstein. He reached the majors with Toronto late in the 2011 season. In his career, he made 18 big league appearances.
