- Born September 4, 1920 in Regina, SK Canada
Biographical Information[edit]
Catherine Bennett began her career in the AAGPBL 1943 with the Kenosha Comets and also played for the South Bend Blue Sox later that year. That year, she led the league in most losses recorded after taking 10 straight L's on the mound. She stayed with the Sox for the 1944 season, putting up a 14-9 record and then the trail goes cold.
To this day it is unknown whether or not she is even still alive or where she went after her baseball career ended. The official AAGPBL Facebook page even released this statement on September 4, 2021: "Catherine Bennett would be 101 today, September 4. Catherine played for the 1943 , Kenosha Comets and 1943-44 for South Bend Blue Sox as a pitcher. She is from Regina, SK. This player has not been located. We have no additional information.
