Category talk:Suspended for Steroid Use
What about changing this to "Steroid Suspensions" or even just "Steroids"? It's nice having short names. --Pti 16:21, 27 Sep 2005 (EDT)
What's next?[edit]
Corked bat suspensions? Throwing bases? I don't think we need a category.

Actually corked bat suspensions isn't a bad idea. I think there are a lot of things that would make for good data but categories are a pain in the kneck to maintain. If you look at the wikipedia it seems like they went way too far with categories. For example - wikipedia:Pedro Martinez. Some things are better done by just listing the names on a single page. --Pti 21:15, 27 Sep 2005 (EDT)
I think lists would be valuable. I'd also like to get a succession template if I could figure out how to make one. Anyway, speaking of categories gone mad, wikipedia:Cal Ripken. --Scott 21:30, 27 Sep 2005 (EDT)
I think categories for all-star games is a bad idea that really makes a mess of everything. --Pti 09:06, 28 Sep 2005 (EDT)
I think this category makes much more sense as "Suspended for Banned Substances" given that we don't know that steroids are always what triggered the positive test results. It could be amphetamines. - --Mischa 13:10, 7 May 2009 (EDT)
- As the category is titled now, Manny Ramirez should be removed. From this source: [1] "The substance is not a steroid and it is not human-growth hormone" - "The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the substance is supposed to boost sex drive. It is not Viagra, but a substance that treats the cause rather providing a temporary boost in sexual performance, the source said." 69.68.238.142 13:46, 7 May 2009 (EDT)
For many of these players, it is unclear what the exact substance banned for was, which is why a generic title to the category makes more sense than the eye-catching "steroids". - --Mischa 13:49, 7 May 2009 (EDT)
Also Daniel Gutierrez for whenever we get this moved to suspended for banned substances.
