I'd like to standardize nomenclature for various post-season scenarios. I propose the following...

WS = World Series

ALCS = American League Championship Series

NLCS = National League Championship Series

ALDS1 = American League Division Series

NLDS1 = National League Division Series

ALDS2 = American League Division Series featuring Wild Card Winner

NLDS2 = National League Division Series featuring Wild Card Winner

For 1981 ALDS1 = East, ALDS2 = West, NLDS1 = East, NLDS2 = West

This category needs a general clean-up. It should be a meta-category that includes the categories World Series, League Championship Series, Division series, Minor League championship series, Negro league World Series, World's series, etc. The individual postseason series would fall under the more precise categories, with only articles such as 1972 Postseason (e.g.) included directly in this category.
