Biographical Information[edit]

Casey Sander played in the Angels system before injuries ended his career. He had been picked by the California Angels in the 10th round of the 1973 amateur draft and signed for a $6,000 bonus. He turned down football scholarship offers from a couple of colleges to pursue his baseball dreams. He debuted with the Idaho Falls Angels in 1973, hitting .212/.280/.318, around average for the team as a whole. Sander split time between first base and the outfield. In 1974, Casey batted .202/.264/.310 in 84 at-bats for the Decatur Commodores. He concluded his career with the 1975 Seattle Rainiers, hitting .213/.327/.235 in 68 games for the independent club; his .971 fielding percentage was third among Northwest League starting outfielders.

Sander returned to college to play football and ran for over 1,000 yards and scored 7 touchdowns in 3 seasons. As he was interested in sports broadcasting, he took an acting class. This led to his career as an actor, guest-starring on several shows including Who's the Boss?, Punky Brewster, and Home Improvement and a regular role on Grace Under Fire. He has appeared in over 100 commercials, over 50 TV shows and 18 movies.
