Biographical Information[edit]
Casey Fossum went 1-0 with a 4.76 ERA in the 1997 Intercontinental Cup. In the Bronze Medal game loss to Australia, he allowed one home run in two-thirds of an inning. He was 1-0 with a 3.97 ERA for Team USA in the 1998 Baseball World Cup.
After 9 seasons in the major leagues, he signed with the Hanshin Tigers for 2010. He began the season with the Hanshin farm club but was called up in April and had a fine Nippon Pro Baseball debut with six shutout innings on April 15th versus the Yomiuri Giants; his bullpen blew the game and he got a no-decision. He went 2-5, 5.72 in 12 starts for Hanshin and returned to the USA in 2011. He went 0-4, 6.56 in 9 games for the Buffalo Bisons in 2011, before his season ended with an injury. He signed with the Baltimore Orioles' organization for 2012, but was released in April before pitching in any games.
