Biographical Information[edit]

Carlos Macía was a Cuban baseball pitcher who played in the Cuban League from 1885 to 1891. He is known best for throwing the first no-hitter in Cuban League history with the Almendares club on February 13, 1887 against the Carmelita club. He joined the Liberation Army in the Cuban War of Independence in 1895. Maciá hit over .300 three times throughout his career and was elected into the Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame in 1944.
