Carl Duane Tumlinson

Carl Tumlinson was a minor league player for three years. He broke in as an outfielder and shortstop for the 1950 Santa Barbara Dodgers, hitting .271/~.338/.360. The next year, he had his best year, batting .319 with 19 homers and 90 RBI for the Greenwood Dodgers. He was fourth in the Cotton States League in homers, 8th in RBI and in the top 10 in average. He also played briefly that year with the Newport News Dodgers. In '52, he batted .258/~.293/.394 for the Elmira Pioneers, splitting shortstop duties with Bob Lillis.

He served as a private in the military and died in combat in the Korean War.
