Biographical Information[edit]
As a player, Carl Iwasaki was a catcher at the University of Northern Colorado from 1981-1984. Before attending Northern Colorado, Iwasaki played at Punahou School in Honolulu, HI. His first college coaching job was an assistant coach position at Saddleback College in 2002 and Austin College in 2003-2004. He became a head baseball coach with Austin College from 2005 to 2010, twice being named Conference Coach of the Year. From 2011-2022, he was head coach at the University of Northern Colorado. He won Great West Conference Coach of the Year in 2013. He also had a stint as GM of the Honolulu Sharks of the Hawaii Winter Baseball League. In 2023, Iwasaki was a base coach for the Grand Junction Jackalopes in the Pioneer League.
