Capitol Park

From BR Bullpen

Capitol Park, located in Washington, DC, was the home of the Washington Nationals in the 1880s. The ballpark was located on North Capitol Street, between F and G streets, where Union Station and the National Postal Museum now stands. Outfielders could see the US Capitol from their position, while those working in the upper floors of the nearby Governement Printing Office had a good view of the playing field. The Baltimore and Ohio railway line ran behind the left field stands.

The grandstand sat approximately 1,800 persons on wooden benches, with bleachers seating twice that number. The infield was in good condition, but the outfield only had sparse grass.
