Biographical Information[edit]

Candelario Estrada was on the Mexican national team and played in the minors.

He won Silver with Mexico in the 1950 Central American and Caribbean Games. [1] He spent his pro career with the Dorados de Chihuahua, hitting .288/.360/.375 with 30 doubles, 15 steals and 97 runs in 1952. He showed lots of range in the outfield, his 346 putouts being second to Santiago Ayala. He was also second with 19 errors, but his fielding percentage of .952 was better than the league median. [2]

Chihuahua next fielded a minor league team in 1955 and Estrada was back with them. In 1956, he hit .311/.391/.378 for the Dorados, striking out only 12 times in 373 AB, while fielding .978. He slipped to .281/.335/.345 in 1957, though he stole 23 bases and scored 81 runs. He was 5th in the Central Mexican League in swipes. He was 9 for 24 for the 1958 Dorados to end his career.
