Cameron University opened as a high school in 1909. The school became a two-year school, Cameron State Agricultural College, in 1927. The school started offering four-year degrees in 1966, changed names to Cameron College in 1971, and adopted the current name in 1974.
In 1958, Cameron won the NJCAA Baseball World Series.
Alumni include Darrell Einertson, Jason Christiansen and Pierce Khan. Randy Bass went here after his baseball career ended.
