Every team in Campeche, Campeche professional baseball history have all been called the Piratas de Campeche except for the 1969 Mexican Southeast League. That club was known as the Campeche Shrimpers (Camaroneros de Campeche in Spanish) and was not affiliated with any Mexican League team. Managed by Dave Garcia, they led the league in runs (612, 89 more than any other team) and fewest runs allowed (441) and had the best record (75-46-1). The roster was loaded with veterans like 1B Bobby Prescott (.289/~.446/.446, 93 BB) and OF Angel Scull (.325/~.396/.413, third in the league in average). All-Stars were C Sergio Agguire (.226/~.325/.312, a league-leading .980 fielding percentage) and P Antonio Franco (17-11, 1.97, second in the MSL in ERA). Leonardo Martinez went 19-7, 2.74 for the best record on the staff, though he was only third among starters in ERA. They drew 43,383 fans, 5th in the six-team league. In the playoffs, they topped the Minatitlan Diablos Rojos 4 games to 3 for the title.
