The son of Harmon Killebrew, outfielder Cam Killebrew was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 25th round of the 1978 amateur draft. He played three seasons in the minors but did not share his father's home run prowess, as he hit just 9 homers over the three years. He split the summer of 1978 between the GCL Rangers (8 for 23, 2 BB) and Asheville Tourists (.187/.400/.293 in 27 G). He played for the Wausau Timbers in 1979, hitting .202/.316/.368 with 64 strikeouts in 163 at-bats, though he did play error-free ball in the outfield. He did not appear in 1980, then was 4 for 41 with a homer, 9 walks and 21 whiffs for the 1981 San Jose Missions to wrap up his career.
