Biographical Information[edit]

21-year-old Calvin Felix hit 52 home runs in his rookie professional season in 1947. Playing for the Las Vegas Wranglers in the Sunset League, Felix batted .382/.459/.726 with 52 home runs, 182 RBI, 173 runs, 236 hits, 35 doubles and 19 stolen bases in 610 at-bats. He led the league in homers, hits, runs, RBI and total bases (443), but he didn't manage the Triple Crown -- Paul Zaby led the league with a .401 batting mark. He never again came close to reaching such gargantuan numbers, though he hit 22 home runs for the Fort Worth Cats in 1954.

Records indicate he hit .304 with 97 home runs in seven seasons.
