The Caborca Tigres were the first minor league team from Caborca, Sonora. They won the only season of the Mexican Rookie League, with a 55-40 record. The Mexico City Tigers farm club dominated the league All-Star team with 1B Carlos Garza (.263/.322/.389), SS Jose Felix Valdez (.356/.404/.417, the batting champion), 3B Mario Valenzuela (.299/.329/.379), OF Armando Lara (.251/.349/.388), C Rogelio Carmona (.254/.315/.371), P Ramon Reynoso (16-3, 1.24, 163 K in 153 IP, a pitching Triple Crown winner) and manager Sergio Gonzalez.
