Byron Motley is an author who has co-written various books about the Negro Leagues including Ruling Over Monarchs, Giants, and Stars: True Tales of Breaking Barriers (2007), Umpiring Baseball Legends, and Wild Adventures in the Negro Leagues.
He is the son of Negro League umpire Bob Motley.
