Biographical Information[edit]
First Baseman Adolph "Buzz" Arlitt led the 1938 Arkansas-Missouri League with 132 RBI. He was the all-star 1B the next year, leading the league with a .358 average, and led the league with 12 HR and 59 RBI in its final season. Arlitt served in the Navy from 1942-1945. He was too tall and was rejected by the military multiple times, until a Navy doctor let him slouch down to meet the 6' 4" maximum. In 1946, Arlitt was the K-O-M League's all-star 1B, while leading the league with 82 RBI.
