Biographical Information[edit]
William "Ducky" Pearce played in the majors in 1908-09.
SABR lists him as playing for Oakland in 1913 and also managing at Ypsilanti the same year (but not playing for them). An article in Wikipedia states that the Ypsilanti team went 24-10, best in the league, before the league folded.
The book Crosley Field (by Irwin Cohen) has a photo of Pearce, and says he ran a lunch counter and filling station after his baseball days.
