Biographical Information[edit]
Buddy Leake played five games for the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings of the St. Louis Cardinals system in 1955, hitting .133 in 15 at-bats.
He was a star quarterback and kicker with the University of Oklahoma Sooners from 1951 to 1954. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1955, though he opted to play for the Canadian Football League's Winnipeg Blue Bombers, where he remained through 1957. In 1956, he was the Dave Dryburgh Memorial Trophy, which is given to the top scorer in the CFL's West Division.
He was inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.
