Biographical Information[edit]
John "Buck" Hopkins had a long minor league career and came to the majors to play 15 games with the 1907 St. Louis Cardinals. He played center field.
The nickname "Sis" was applied to many players named Hopkins, based on a play of the era called "Sis Hopkins".
His minor league career lasted at least from 1906-20. Hopkins was from Virginia, and he often played in the Virginia League.
